Subject: Best Phil show ever
Subject: Best Phil show ever
I wasn't even there. That's usually what people say about their first show in person...I just downloaded this by chance in Furthurnet about 3 years ago
...
and the rest is history.
The opening jams by Phil are just mellow and beautifully sublime. Watchtower > Help > Slip > Franklin's is just otherworldly. The Jam > Eyes is rejuvenating and deep. Rob and Phil are really in the zone on this night.
The slight audio issues on Jam > Eyes is easily forgivable all things considered. Download it now, it's truly a must-have for any Phil fan.
The fact that it's also the '9/11' tribute show makes it a high-priority show. It's already been explained, but of course the song selection is prime. Everything, every note played here is, I believe, inspired by the tragedy. You can hear it.
The Eleven > Blues for Allah > WatchTOWER > Help > Slip > Franklin's TOWER. Jam > Eyes of the World > Wheel > 1000 Stars reminds us that life is but a dream and we will carry on.
Must-have.

Really nice gig..beautifully paced..empathetic playing.Only regret is that the second set does not include "At a siding" & "Terrapin Flyer"....slight
...
popping sound on "Eyes of the world"...I think Tony Blair should listen to this concert...Is there any chance of somebody playing it to George Bush....please for everybody's sake!!!
